School's Out for Colin

Colin's Last Days as a Fourth Grader!!!!

I cannot believe that I am now officially a parent of a fifth grader! Seems like just yesterday he started pre-school! Time flies!
Since I was already done with school, I was able to spend Thursday on the field trip to the Daniel Boone home and Friday at closing mass, IHOP for breakfast with a bunch of Colin's friends and their moms and then to spend afternoon at Wapelhorst Park! What a great couple of days!

Friday afternoon at the park was great! The boys played water guns, wiffleball and played in the woods while the moms sat and talked and had some snacks and cocktails! As one of my friends put it, "This is great ~ the weather is beautiful, we are enjoying each other's company, having drinks and the boys are no where around us!" I totally agreed...Brendan was running around with the boys at times and at times a big sister of one of Colin's friends was watching him!
Can't get much better than that!

Buzz to the Rescue!!!!

Brendan's obsession with anything and everything Buzz Lightyear has continued to be fed by getting some new Buzz jammies!! This prompted me to take a picture of him in the jammies and he wanted to add some other things to the picture! Notice the new stuffed animals, toys, blankie and even, yes, under the jammies are Buzz pull-ups! Can you say 'over the top'??
No matter where we are, this kid can spot a Toy Story logo and immediately, we have to go see what it is! Sunday at Dierbugs, it was a loaf of bread! "Mom, get that bread!" he yelled! I drew the line there...maybe I should draw it more....but it's too cute to stop!

You Know You're Old When....

Colin and I are going to run in the 5K at the school picnic the first weekend in June, so we have been running to get ready. Well, we ran today, came in the house and Mike said "How did it go?" Colin says "Good" in a completely-not-out-of-breath tone and I huffed "Good." Mike of course had to make sure that I knew that Colin was not out of breath and I was!!! Go figure...I guess that is why he's 10 and I'm NOT!!
